Worried about catching a cold or the flu? Just slather on some hand sanitizer and you will be fine, RIGHT? Think again… a recent report has some different things to say. According to “germ experts”, alcohol-based hand sanitizers only kill certain germs for up to two minutes before drying up and becoming useless. And a recent study out of the University of Virginia (UV) revealed that alcohol-based hand sanitizers do not reduce the overall number of cold and flu cases, either, suggesting they are ineffective.  Natural Hand Sanitizer.

But, most Americans still believe hand sanitizers are effective anyway, and that they work for long periods of time than they actually do.  Even the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) admits that that hand sanitizers “will not kill all germs”, but the agency still recommends that people use them.

Many hand sanitizers are also loaded with toxic chemicals that get absorbed in the skin and cause other health problems.  There have always been the warnings from people who are worried about hand sanitizer ingredients, like TRICLOSAN which may disrupt your hormones.  Now we have new reasons to throw out the hand sanitizer!  In this article, and in  youtube videos, we have discovered that teens are drinking hand sanitizer to get high, AND to start fires!  Three 15-year-old students now face arson charges in connection with the 4-alarm fire that destroyed part of their school in Woodburn, Oregon.

So, why not find other solutions?  Ultimately hand sanitizers will not protect you from getting sick, and some of the ingredients may actually make you sick!  So a more preferable way to stay healthy and avoid viral and bacterial infections is to take plenty of natural vitamin C and vitamin D, eat powerful superfoods like garlic and astragalus, drink plenty of clean water, and use antibacterial and antiviral ESSENTIAL OILS, which have been shown to be 90% effective in attenuating the H1N1 virus in this University of Oklahoma study.
